About the Band

The band Dry Island Buffalo Jump is the country/folk/americana band consisting of current staff, retired staff and a local alumnus. The band, affectionately know as “The Buff” for short, have been rocking the pubs, concerts and balls since 2008. We currently consist of:

• French Buffalo Vocals, Guitar, Banjo, Drums, French Poetry
• Captain Apocalypse Bass, Fiddle, Drums, Culture and Religion c.400-900
• Buff Me Clean Cello, Early Medieval European History
• Bald Buffalo Flute, Harmonica, Alexander III
• Buffalo Emeritus Guitar, Vocals, Late Mediaeval English Political and Social History
• Buffalo Bill Guitar, Bouzouki, Soul Food
• Buffalo Woodie Accordion, Trumpet, German Historiography, Scandinavian Carpentry
• Audio Buff Vocals, Guitar, Banjo, Bass, Acoustics, Music Technology
• Metaphysics Buff Drums, Philosophical Logic

We are available for all manner of musical experiences. Recently we have raised £1,265 for students in danger of financial hardship through the Rocking in the Buff SaintsFunder with more gigs including a charity concert in the Byre Theatre on the Thursday the 26th of September 2024 in collaboration with the the University of St Andrews Student Charities Campaign.
